● Shopify development

Shopify developers who understand building stores to a target.

We build stores designed to convert. From the initial load to product purchase. Every step a visitor takes on your site is intentionally considered and designed for.

Chapter 01Platform fit

“Does Shopify actually suit my store?”

Shopify experts who scope the store before the theme

Three answers decide the platform: what you sell, what you make on it, and how many orders a week the store has to take.

Shopify wins when you want the checkout, the servers and the card security handled for you for a monthly fee, and a store your team can run without a developer on call. It carries you from your first sale through Black Friday without anyone having to touch a server. Most product businesses with a clear range and a small team land here, and land well.

It suits you less if you publish as much as you sell, where WooCommerce gives you the whole stack under your own roof. Push heavy traffic against hard speed targets and a headless Shopify storefront takes the ceiling off. You get the answer, the reasoning and the running costs in the proposal: what Shopify charges each month, the slice it takes from every sale, and any paid add-on the store depends on.

Chapter 02The path to payment

“Will the store you build actually sell?”

Shopify store design and build

Every screen between the product and the payment is a chance to lose the order, so we build those screens first.

We design the store around the products you actually make money on, then build every page ourselves rather than buying a ready-made template. The pages that list your products are built for browsing. The product pages are built for one thing only, getting the item into the basket. And the run from there to paying is made as short as it will go. Doing it this way keeps the monthly template and page-builder fees off your bill, and holds product pages under a second to load, which matters because a slow page quietly wastes the visitors you have already paid for.

Ask why any step sits where it does and the answer comes back in orders. If your current store takes three seconds to show a product, send us the URL and we walk the path with you.

Chapter 03Working together

“Will I end up locked in to you?”

Shopify app development

When nothing in Shopify’s app store does the job your business actually needs, we build the missing piece ourselves. It is yours from the first day.

Most of what we build does one of three jobs. It keeps the stock figures in your shop matching the ones in your warehouse. It drops each order straight into your accounts software, so nobody types the same order out twice. Or it shows trade customers the prices you agreed with them rather than the ones on the shelf. Each one either replaces an app you were renting every month or an hour somebody was spending every week, so we price it against the money and the time it hands back. We build it the way Shopify recommends and test it against the changes Shopify has already announced, so it keeps working when the platform moves underneath it.

The same straight answer runs through the platform advice. We build WooCommerce, headless Shopify, and WordPress sites too. There is no licence here we need to defend, so there is nowhere we have a reason to push you. One fixed quote covers the build, and the number holds.

  1. Scope

We agree how many orders a week the store has to take, confirm Shopify is the right home for that, and list what it costs to run beside what it costs to build. One fixed quote, in writing.

  2. Shape

The page that lists your products, the product page itself, and the run to payment get shaped first. You approve the route a buyer takes before we build anything around it.

  3. Build

We build the pages, connect payments and delivery, and load your products onto a private web address you can open at any point.

  4. Keep

After launch we look after the store: keeping it and its apps up to date, plus small changes to the route to payment. Anything that cannot be argued in orders stays out.

Chapter 04The number

“Will moving to Shopify actually pay off?”

Migrations to Shopify

We move stores from Magento, WooCommerce, and older platforms onto Shopify with the trading history intact.

Products, sizes and colours, customer accounts and past orders all come across. We practise the move on a copy first and check the totals match before we do it for real. Every old page address gets pointed at the right new one, so the search rankings you spent years earning follow you over. All of this happens alongside your existing store: you keep selling while we build, compare the two side by side, and only switch when the new one beats the old one. Most product ranges take two to four weeks on top of the build.

The weekly order target we agreed in chapter one is the number the finished store answers to. Every commission you stop paying a marketplace stays with you, and your first Black Friday on the new store runs without anyone sitting up watching a server.

Shopify questions, answered

Questions04 answered
How much does a Shopify store cost to build?

Shopify itself charges from £25 a month. The build is ours to quote: we work out how many products you have, what the store needs to connect to, and how much design it needs, then give you one fixed figure in writing before anything starts. Because we build the pages ourselves rather than buying a ready-made template, there is no monthly template or page-builder fee on top.

How long does a migration from WooCommerce or Magento take?

Two to four weeks for most product ranges, on top of the build itself. Your current store keeps selling the whole time. We practise the move first on a copy and check the totals match, make sure every old page address sends visitors to the right new one, and only point your web address at the new store once you have signed it off.

How long does a Shopify build take?

Six weeks on average from the first call to the first order. Week one is working out what the store needs and pricing it, design follows, and from then on there is a private web address you can open any time to see the real thing taking shape. If the store has to talk to other software you already use, that can add a week or two, and you see it in the quote.

Do you support the store after launch?

Yes, on a monthly care plan. We watch that the store stays online, keep it and its apps up to date, check it is still loading quickly, and make small changes to the route a buyer takes to pay. One person looks after your store, and you hear in plain English what changed and why.
